Altcoins Market Today



After a sharp downside correction, bitcoin price found support near the USD 8,650 level. BTC started an upside correction and it is now (08:30 UTC) trading near the USD 9,000 level. To continue higher, it must clear the USD 9,050 and USD 9,200 resistance levels.

In the past three sessions, a few smaller altcoins gained more than 5%, including ZIL, ENJ, THETA, HBAR, MATIC, ZRX, MANA, SNT, IOST, NEXO, LUNA, and DX. Out of these, ZIL climbed around 20% and ENJ jumped more than 15%.Overall, bitcoin price is currently correcting higher and reaching the USD 9,000 level. To continue higher, BTC price must surpass the USD 9,200 hurdle. If not, there is a risk of another decline towards the USD 8,550 level.

What Are Altcoins?


Altcoins are the other cryptocurrencies launched after the success of Bitcoin. Generally, they sell themselves as better alternatives to Bitcoin. The term "altcoins" refers to all cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin. As of early 2020, there were more than 5,000 cryptocurrencies by some estimates. According to CoinMarketCap, altcoins accounted for over 34% of the total cryptocurrency market in February 2020.

The host of the show, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, revealed that over 170 million votes were cast in the course of the season, 30 million of it coming in the final week. Based on how the BBNaija game works, viewers were asked to cast votes for their favourite housemates to keep them in the house as the housemate with the highest votes would win. The cost of voting was N30. This shows that BBNaija made a total of N5.1billion from viewers votes alone and 17.6 per cent of sum (N900 million) came in the final week of the show. Gun Background Checks in February Were the 3rd Highest Ever

February was one of the biggest months on record for gun background checks , according to new FBI data. The number of background checks conducted by the National Instant Criminal Background Check System on people trying to purchase a firearm hit 2.6 million in February, down from a high of 3.3 million in December 2015, according to the FBI. February’s background check total was the third largest in history, also falling short of the 2.7 million conducted in December 2012 after the deadly mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School . The FBI noted that the number of background checks does not directly correlate to the number of firearm sales. The large number of background checks comes after a year of several high-profile mass shootings . Gun sales in America have historically spiked after a mass shooting, and there was a record number of firearm background checks conducted in 2015.
