Comedian ‘Alibaba’ Warns Women Who Stay In Abusive Marriages

Comedian, Alibaba, has once again, highlighted the dangers in stock for women who decide to stay in abusive marriages because they were hoping that things would change.
He cited the recent ugly incident of the lady who suffered serious head injuries after her husband attacked and kicked her out of her home in the middle of the night in Akwa Ibom.
He wrote on gram, “And some will say stay… And take it to the Lord in Prayer… every marriage has it’s own challenges… that is just their way. Until the violent spouse kills the partner. Shebi God said till death do us part? Now that the spouse is trying to the partner, people now want person to listen to God. When God said Adam and Eve… they said its Adam and Steve. Did you take that to God and he said ride on? John and Jacob… That’s ok.”
The comedian, who apparently was trying to be sarcastic, belongs to the school of thought that discourages women in abusive marriages from enduring.

The host of the show, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, revealed that over 170 million votes were cast in the course of the season, 30 million of it coming in the final week. Based on how the BBNaija game works, viewers were asked to cast votes for their favourite housemates to keep them in the house as the housemate with the highest votes would win. The cost of voting was N30. This shows that BBNaija made a total of N5.1billion from viewers votes alone and 17.6 per cent of sum (N900 million) came in the final week of the show. Gun Background Checks in February Were the 3rd Highest Ever

February was one of the biggest months on record for gun background checks , according to new FBI data. The number of background checks conducted by the National Instant Criminal Background Check System on people trying to purchase a firearm hit 2.6 million in February, down from a high of 3.3 million in December 2015, according to the FBI. February’s background check total was the third largest in history, also falling short of the 2.7 million conducted in December 2012 after the deadly mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School . The FBI noted that the number of background checks does not directly correlate to the number of firearm sales. The large number of background checks comes after a year of several high-profile mass shootings . Gun sales in America have historically spiked after a mass shooting, and there was a record number of firearm background checks conducted in 2015.
