OFFICIAL:Manchester United have completed the signing of Paul Pogba from Juventus

Manchester United have announced the signing of Paul Pogba from Juventus for a world record £100m fee

Midfielder will wear the No 6 shirt at Old Trafford and earn £290,000-a-week for his five-year contract

Pogba left United in 2012 for just £800,000 in compensation after failing to break into the first-team

The Frenchman completes a sensational return to Old Trafford, the club he walked away from in 2012, for £90million.

Pogba has put pen to paper on a five-year deal as he confirmed his return to the Premier League.
And the Frenchman is delighted to have returned to the club four years on.

“I am delighted to rejoin United. It has always been a club with a special place in my heart and I am really looking forward to working with José Mourinho.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Juventus and have some fantastic memories of a great club with players that I count as friends. But I feel the time is right to go back to Old Trafford.

"I always enjoyed playing in front of the fans and can’t wait to make my contribution to the team. This is the right club for me to achieve everything I hope to in the game.”

United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward agreed the deal with Juve directors Giuseppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici, as well as the player’s agent Mino Raiola.

Raiola is set to pocket a staggering £20m fee from the deal.

Pogba is reported to earn an astonishing £104m pre-tax salary over five years, a figure that put off Real Madrid, who were also in the running for his signature, with Cristiano Ronaldo the only Los Blancos star to earn more than that amount.

The Frenchman made just seven appearances for United during his initial stint with the club, and failed to complete 90 minutes in the Premier League under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson.

 Pogba impressed for Juventus

He went on to help Juventus win four Serie A titles and two Italian Cups while he also helped them reach the 2014-15 Champions League final. He helped France finish runners-up at Euro 2016 this summer.

Opening up on the signing of Pogba after Sunday's Community Shield victory over Leicester, United boss Jose Mourinho said: 'United is the perfect club to bring him to the level he wants to be.'

Mourinho added: 'The Premier League is the perfect habitat for that. If you want to be the best player in the world, if you go to Barcelona or Real Madrid you are in trouble because I don't think the other two big guys (Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo) will let you.

Pogba has made the decision to rejoin the club as they look to vastly improve on the fifth-placed finish secured under Louis van Gaal in 2015-16.
