Portugal beat France in historic Euro triumph

France dominated possession and also shots on target, but the first half saw Cristiano Ronaldo been stretched out after a knee collision with France midfielder Dimitri Payet.


Ronaldo handed the Captain band to Nani and that ended his tournament. The question now remains if Cristiano Ronaldo was fully fit for this competition maybe he was playing on injection and painkillers.

Couldn't  make the needed impact, but on the other end Rui Patricio was outstanding saving a Griezman header, He was also called into action when Sissoko made a solo movement through the Portugal defense, Sissoko was arguably the best player in the first half.

After 90mins no goal from each side, the dominant of France was high, A well concentrated Portugal played without the service of their talisman Cristiano who had no part to play after sustaining a knee injury. Rui Patricio came out on top as he was excellent in both halves. Gignac almost grabbed the winning goal as he sees his shot hit the bar.

Portugal had the best of chances in the extra period of the game, first an Eder powerful header which saw Hugo Lloris make a wonderful save, Raphael came closer after he hit the bar from a free kick which Mark Clattenburg made a wrong call. Sooner Portugal was on the  break as Eder scored what was the winning goal of the match and arguably the best goal of his career till date.

Zika-Linked Cases of Microcephaly Rise in Brazil

The number of cases of microcephaly in Brazil associated with the Zika virus has risen to 4,863 —up from 4,690 a week ago. Confirmed cases of the virus reached 641, while suspected cases now total 4,222, Reuters reported on Wednesday morning, citing the Ministry of Health. The Zika epidemic—which is now spreading through the Americas and prompting a dedicated response from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention—is centered in Brazil.
