Movies: Robert Downey Jr. on Iron Man 4 possibility: 'I could probably do one more'

Robert Downey Jr. is changing his tune after telling USA Today in March that another Iron Man film “isn’t in the cards.”

The actor told ABC’s Nightline during a Captain America: Civil War set visit that another Iron Man film is not entirely off the table. “I feel like I could do one more,” he said. Downey appears in Civil War as Tony Stark, who he’s now played for nearly a decade (the first film in Marvel’s Iron Man series was released in 2008). Combined, the three Iron Man films have grossed $2.4 billion worldwide.

Civil War star Chris Evans also told Nightline that Downey’s portrayal of Stark in the upcoming film is darker than what fans are used to. “[Stark has] always danced to the beat of his own drum [and he’s] feeling a little bit of guilt of the actions the Avengers have taken, and the collateral damage we have caused, where he feels responsible,” he said.

Captain America: Civil War opens in theaters on May 6. Watch the film’s cast, including Scarlett Johansson, Chadwick Boseman, and Elizabeth Olsen, discuss making the film in the video above, and skip to the four-minute mark to hear Downey’s comments on starring in another Iron Man film.

The Real Winner of the Democratic Debate: President Obama   More Sanders Snarks as Democratic Debate Gets Heated Democratic Candidates Court Black Voters at Debate Clinton and Sanders Walk a Careful Line on Women at Debate There were only two Democrats on the debate stage in Milwaukee on Thursday night, but they should have brought a third podium for President Obama. Sanders, for his part, did his best to hold his ground, justifying his criticism of the President and presenting himself as a change agent while pointing out Clinton’s own differences with Obama. Oscar Pistorius Will Be Sentenced for Murder After Dismissal of his Appeal

A lawyer for Oscar Pistorius says South Africa’s highest court has dismissed the former track star’s appeal of his murder conviction. The ruling by the Constitutional Court on Thursday clears the way for a judge to sentence Pistorius for murder at a hearing scheduled for April 18. Defense lawyer Andrew Fawcett confirmed the Constitutional Court’s decision and said: “We’ll proceed to the sentencing.” Pistorius, who killed girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in his home in 2013, had appealed to the Constitutional Court, saying another court erred when it overturned a manslaughter conviction and declared the Olympic athlete guilty of murder. The minimum sentence for murder in South Africa is 15 years, though a judge can reduce that sentence for what the law describes as exceptional circumstances. Pistorius is currently under house arrest. [ Time ]
